Adam Rippon
Adam Rippon is an American figure skater born November 11, 1989 in
Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.
He is champion of the Four continents in 2010.
In an interview for Skating, the magazine of the American Skating
Federation, the American skater Adam Rippon announces that he is homosexual.
"It's 2015," he says.
Many athletes want to get out of the closet, it's part of the
culture today to be more open to what you are and to show what your interests
are.
Of course people are interested in your sexual orientation.
People love rumors.
When the athletes come out, it makes it a bit more trivial and less
of a state affair, especially in the sports community.
You have a lot of respect for your colleagues because they work
hard to achieve their goals. In this case, sexual orientation becomes
secondary.
Being gay is not what defines me, he continues.
What defines me is what my parents have always taught me: to treat
others with respect, to work hard and to be kind. These are things that define
me. "
Some athletes must prove that they do not cheat or use performance
enhancing drugs; others must proclaim that their butts are, in fact, real.
Over the weekend, the American figure skater Adam Rippon, who was
in Japan in the Grand Prix final, tweeted the following:

There's been a lot of questions about it, but it's not about that,
it's just my real butt. Thank you for your interest, comments, and concern.
Love you.
Figure Skaters are known for their incredibly strong lower bodies -
most of their movements on the ice are powered by their gluteal muscles. Hence
the development of the "skater's ass". In 2000, Michelle Kwan said
that hers "comes out like a bubble".
Back in 2014 When I interviewed Chris Schleicher, a former pair
skater, he talked about the challenge of finding pants that fit his
overdeveloped behind. "I was halfway praying that J-Lo was releasing a
line of men's pants," he told me.
Here is Rippon skating his ass during his short program last month
at Skate America.
