Bad Moms 2

The surprise success of the first episode of Bad Moms prompted its producers to put the cover back with a second opus that this time to dynamite the Christmas holidays.

SYNOPSIS : The Christmas season is often the best time of the year but for a mother this represents an unbearable accumulation of stress that Amy , Kiki and Carla chose this year not to succumb. But while they wanted to run smoothly, they will have to endure the visit of their mothers always too demanding and critical that will spoil their plans.

But where are the American comedies that made us laugh so much? This year 2017 is almost about to end without offering us a single big comic movie in the line of big hits from the United States like Very Bad Trip , Ted or The Interview Who Kills . While many of those planned in the year have made so much of a bide in their country that they have gone out to us directly on DVD, it is to ask if the genre was not killed by TV series much more funny and original. Because Bad Moms was one of the few comic hits of last year, directors and screenwriters Jon Lucas and Scott Moore chose to immediately re-enact with a sequel that comes out just a year and a half later and that needs to be done well. admitting it seems particularly sloppy as she lacks inspiration and originality in her gags.

Bad Moms 2

While surfing on the success of the female trash comedies initiated by Paul Feig and Judd Apatow , the first Bad Moms saw a real good surprise full of irreverence and good mood carried by a casting that seemed to take a real pleasure to let go. While Bad Moms 2 takes over the same team, we feel the first few minutes that inspiration is no longer there and that Scott Moore and Jon Lucas have chosen to make it easy to respond to the pressure of a studio who was demanding a suite. The film begins with the remains of a party that reminds us of the " Very Bad Trip" that the duo wrote and then goes back in time for the character of Mila Kunis to tell us how she got there.

Absolutely nothing will seem natural in the following scenes starting with the dialogues where the word Fuck fuse at every turn to prove in a very exaggerated way that we are in a trashy comedy where we can get drunk in a mall to overcome the test of Christmas shopping. The trio of mother does not seem curiously to have evolved despite the lesson of the first episode but this new film does not seem to really follow what could have been put in place but is simply trying to tell a different story. If we can welcome this desire not to make a simple copied / pasted, the story they invented here will not show up at the level of the first and recycles many things already seen elsewhere as a stripper particularly well hung and a depilatory scene that does not match the 40-year-old Always Puceau .

Bad Moms 2

In this new film, the directors have chosen to transform our trio of unworthy mothers into daughters of even more unworthy mothers, but using clichés already much seen in many comedies about the family. Amy's mother is a bully who criticizes all that her daughter can do, Kiki's is very possessive and totally gaga of her daughter and Carla's is a very old rock'n roll bandie who only comes to see her daughter when she needs money. What does not seem logical is that the film gives the impression that these girls have not spent Christmas with their mothers for centuries where a normal family usually seeks to meet every year for the occasion. We can also find it odd that this Christmas story puts so many children on the side leaving them only brief appearances without interest. Likewise of all the secondary characters of the first film alone Christina Applegate will make a very brief appearance.

In Bad Moms 2 , Mila Kunis really goes on the side of moms and does not release anything sexy besides not really being funny and be quite annoying in his inability to handle any situation. Kristen Bell will be a little funnier while Kathryn Hahn quickly becomes swollen as her character is vulgar to excess. It is wondering what poor Susan Sarandon has come to do in this galley, a likely desire to let go of mother rock n 'roll that is more pity than laugh. Christine Baranski is on familiar ground playing the strict and bourgeois mother since she was known for her role as Sheldon's mother in the series The Big Bang Theory . The psychopathic side of Kiki's mother played by Cheryl Hines can be the most fun without triggering so many laughs.

Bad Moms 2

As if they wanted to slap this potential franchise, Scott Moore and Jon Lucas seem to have deliberately chosen to completely miss this Bad Moms 2 all gags fall flat and are cruelly lacking originality. It will really be a mother on the verge of depression to find this fun story. We feel the heavy blow of fatigue of the two directors who have obviously not had time to rack their brains to lay a continuation to the height. One thing is nobody will ask them for third episode after such a failure that requires a lot of effort to resist the urge to leave before the end.

After the commercial success of the first part, the duo Lucas-Moore confronts the character of mother overflowing (Mila Kunis) to the stress of the holiday season. And to his own "bad mom". But the tone is less subversive. Everything goes nicely in order for the magic of Christmas ..
